Alarm Communicators
U.L Listed
DACTs
When digital communication
became an approved method of fire alarm signal transmission, Silent Knight
was the first to supply a digital communicator to the fire industry.
Model 5104
Fire Control Communicator

We know digital communication.
And, with hundreds of thousands of our communicators worldwide, it shows.
The Silent Knight Model 5104
is a four-zone fire control communicator providing digital fire reporting
over ordinary telephone lines, eliminating the need for costly leased
lines. It's UL 864 and NFPA 72 approved for monitoring local evacuation
controls.
As a stand-alone unit, it can
be used to monitor:
-
Sprinkler systems for waterflow,
supervisory, and gate valve tamper conditions.
-
Automatic fire detection
systems for structures that are not required to have a fire alarm
system but want property protection (e.g. to call the fire department
after hours).
-
Dry contact alarms, trouble
and supervisory outputs, then transmits a separate code for each.
The Model 5104 is fully supervised.
Its microprocessor constantly runs programs to monitor AC, standby battery,
zone inputs and telephone line connections. If a fault condition is detected,
it sounds a local trouble audible and reports the condition to the central
station. If one of the telephone lines faults for more than 45 seconds,
it will automatically switch to the other to report the failure.
The communicator will signal
activation, restoration and trouble conditions on any of four inputs.
If an application requires a different input configuration, the individual
input styles may be changed by using a Model 7181 Fire Zone Converter
Module. The 7181 also allows use of two-wire type smoke detectors, instead
of the normal fourwire contact type, for automatic fire detection applications.

Model 7810
Furnace Failure Detector

The 7810 furnace failure detector
is a small, inexpensive fixed temperature thermostat that provides contact
closure at 40F.
In reality, a homeowner can have more damage
on their hands from a furnace going out than from a break-in. If a furnace
fails unnoticed on a cold day or night, anything in the house that holds
water-sinks, pipes, radiators, toilets, dishwashers-can freeze and burst,
creating significant repair and replacement costs. In just a matter of
hours, a house can have serious problems if its furnace shuts down during
the winter. With a 7810 installed, a central station can be alerted to
the problem in order to correct the situation and head off repair problems.
Features
- No external power required.
- Simple, two wire connection.
- Automatically restores to normal when
temperature problem corrected.
Activation Temperature: 40F.
Output: Normally open dry contact
(close on alarm). Self-resetting.
